Boston A guide to peptide care

Read the record

What supports the answer you were given?

Someone says a medicine is backed by science. You want to know what that means for the treatment being offered to you. Could they show the actual source and explain what it can answer?

Which claim is this source meant to support?

For permission to market a product, ask for the official record. For a claim about results, ask which study concerns the same product, form and goal. For a licence, use the state record.

FDA guidance checked September 26, 2026 says that a listing code for a medicine gives no proof of product approval.

A medicine code, a study and a clinician’s licence answer different questions. Put the question beside the source before deciding what the source means.

Keep advice and rules apart

The Federation of State Medical Boards publishes guidance for medical boards; that guidance is not itself a state law.

Massachusetts policy checked September 30, 2026 answers questions about the doctor visit: care counts as taking place here when the patient is in Massachusetts. It also requires the same standard of care online as in person.

Ask whether an answer comes from a law, an agency policy, a product label or someone’s view of those records.

Ask what changed, and when

Some ingredients need a place on the FDA’s official list before a pharmacy may use them in a made-to-order medicine, under rules checked September 26, 2026.

A group that advises the FDA is called an advisory committee. Its vote does not add an ingredient to that list or change the law; the FDA must complete a formal rule change, under rules checked September 26, 2026.

The committee met in July 2026 to discuss adding seven peptides, including BPC-157, to that ingredient list.

A check on September 26, 2026 found no FDA-published notes from that meeting, word-for-word written account or official record of its votes.

If an offer rests on a headline about a change, ask for the final action and its date. A plan to change a rule is a different thing from a rule in force.
